DUNN WITH CANCER
A MOVEMENT OF HOPE
Two words to sum up Dunn With Cancer 2021: THANK YOU!!
Thanks to all who participated in the 2021 Dunn With Cancer Run on September 18th, 2021. We are thrilled to announce that - thanks to your generosity - we raised $191,000 for brain cancer research, bringing our two year total to over $450,000. The proceeds from the 2020 event sponsored a $100,000 fellowship grant, two $50,000 grants and a $25,000 grant. Stay tuned for announcements on the grants sponsored by the 2021 proceeds.
At the start of 2020, Allison was living her best life - a 33 year old mother of three young kids who dedicated her work to helping those less fortunate in the Kitchener-Waterloo community, Allison was doing exactly what she was meant to do.
This all changed in February 2020 when Allison was diagnosed with grade 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. And when 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatment had minimal impacts on her symptoms, Allison passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2020, 4 months less a day after the tumour was discovered.
The DUNN with Cancer run is for Allison. The DUNN with Cancer run is also for each person who has been or will be impacted by glioblastoma.
The DUNN with Cancer mission is a simple one: We want to live in a world where glioblastoma is treatable and, eventually, curable.
Thanks to our partners at the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, 100% of the donations to the DUNN With Cancer Research Fund will go towards glioblastoma research so that one day we will achieve our goal.
So far, together we have raised $226,000 for brain cancer research, which has already been used to sponsor two grants with a fellowship announcement coming soon. View Our Impact to see how your generosity has been put to use.

After successful runs in 2020 and 2021, we will be back with the third annual DUNN with Cancer Run in 2022! After all, Allison would not have stopped after two runs, so we won't either!
We are excited to share that, in partnership with That Dam Hill, the DUNN with Cancer Run will be taking place on Saturday, September 17th, 2022 in Springbank Park, London, ON.
Like last year, we are planning a few 5km Run/Walks in memory of Allison, in addition to a spectator BBQ. There will also be timed races available, with registration opening up closer to the event. The timed races include the half marathon, marathon (relay) and 24 hour (relay).
